Ross McKinnon Plaque presentation Brisbane Botanic Gardens
QCGC presented the certificate to Ross McKinnon at the 2021 Xmas function run by QCGC at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Auditorium.
Photo of Plaque. A Special Guest was Ross McKinnon (pictured below) whose Contribution to the Development of the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens was
acknowledged by the presentation by Curator Dale Arvidsson of a new plaque and a certificate for the entrance to the Botanic Gardens. Ross was speechless about this great accolade. QCGC funded the production of the plaque that is now at the Ross McKinnon Gates at the entrance of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mt Coot-tha.

Dear President Phil, Secretary Anne and Executive Committee,
I view with increasing concern the thought that our beautiful Victoria Park could be concreted over for an Olympic stadium when plenty of other sites that do not encroach on public parkland could be considered.
Victoria Park is adjacent to Queensland's largest public hospital. Can you begin to imagine 7 years of construction noise and dust, enormous crowds, local streets jammed with venue parking?
I am sure the Save Victoria Park group would hugely appreciate QCGC support before it is too late?
For your earnest and urgent consideration,
Ross McKinnon AM,
Retired Curator-in-Charge,
Brisbane Botanic Gardens
