President Morning Tea

Presidents from many QCGC clubs enjoy getting together to hear a guest speaker on a topic of club management and to discuss items of common interest.  Starting at 10 am and with a guest speaker on running a garden club. Topics include the Office of Fair Tradie, Taxation, Record Keeping Managing people and Finances.

Friendship Day

Organized as a lunchtime event at the Brisbane Botanic Garden in late June each year for clubs to hear a guest speaker, participate in the Wendy Wragge and share lunch time conversations. A great networking function where you an meet up with gardeners from the various district garden clubs.  A great relaxation.

Garden Affair now known as Plant & Floral Fair

A Garden A-Fair is held annually around Easter time at the Brisbane Botanic Garden, Mt Coot-tha Auditorium. The clubs compete in friendly atmosphere and bring in a tremendous range of flowers and plants. Plant and flower show at Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Displays of floral art, cut flowers and foliage, container plants and fruit and vegetables, plant sales, raffle, information about garden clubs. 

Fashion Parade

Everyone loves a fashion parade and members of garden clubs have fun modelling garments from a selected fashion house. Held in late August at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Auditorium with an entertaining guest speaker, a delicious morning tea and raffles.  This is just a fun activity for everyone to enjoy. Come and be part of the festivities.

EKKA Garden Displays

The Royal National Agricultural show held at the Brisbane Showgrounds is an annual event that includes garden displays in the Agricultural pavilion.  If you come to the show visit the QCGC stand and all the other garden club stands and talk to the gardening volunteers.

Past Events

QCGC occasionally runs special events for members.   Visits to Newstead House, Governor’s home and Sherwood Arboretum.

Christmas Function

The president runs a presentation luncheon and hands out awards to the outstanding members of QCGC and the various clubs. Biennial Awards presentation
