Pittsworth Garden Club Inc received the Community Event award at the Australia Day ceremony on 26 January 2025.

“Bloomin’ Pittsworth” success at the inaugural Showcasing Pittsworth event in 2023 was the catalyst for the Pittsworth Garden Club unanimously agreeing to have another go. The group of sixty vibrant members of mixed ages and genders cooperated enthusiastically to make the 2024 event even better. The event used the lovely grounds and hall of St Andrew’s Anglican Church. Fifty stalls from surrounding areas flocked to Pittsworth to create a market day atmosphere featuring garden art, crafts, home made goods, bric and brac, food and plants. Hundreds of visitors were attracted to our town from all directions, delighted to see what Pittsworth could showcase.

Val Hohn (President) accepted the award on behalf of the Pittsworth Garden Club members.

Val said “We really appreciate this award for our Bloomin’ Pittsworth extravaganza. The idea was to have an event where other garden clubs could join us for a meet and greet, and sell their wares on the day”.

“A small number of ladies created this club in 1980  and, over a span of 45 years, it is still going strong with approximately fifty members”.
