We wll get an obituary soon. Some of my recollecions from the funeral. Robyn suggested I just make some up.
I have only known Tom for the last four yewrs so the detail maybe sketchy and inaccurate. Tom was born and lived his youth in North Queensland. He was brought up as a Catholic and the funerl was a full Catholic service. He first lived in Mackay and then bordered in Townsvile. He wasa top sportsman and could have had a career in Golf or maybe cricket. In the 1960's sport was a recreation and not a commercial actvitiy as it is today. Tom loved learning and was a top academic as well. He had a mulitude of choices for a caraeer and chose pharmacy. An absolute workaholic. He married early and had 4 dauhers and one son. They all took part in the funeral. The children produced a collecton of grand daughters and Tom seemed to dot on all the grand daughters. So many photos of Tom cuddling a baby. At around 50 Tom workaholic attitudes lead to a divorce that was not mentioned at the funersal. He then took up house with Robyn and setup the Artists Gallery in Paddington so that Robyn could just stay at home and paint. He had 27 glorius years with Robyn. I visited the gallery in 2017 (witth NDHS) and fell inlove with the house and gallery. Quite jealous in some ways. The house is on 3 levels and the gardne has three or four levels below the bottom floor. The garden was like a pharmacy shop with a tremend\ous collecion of plants located specially around the house.in a fashion similar to a chemist shop. Tom took on leadership roles at The Gap Garden Club, Probus and QCGC. He will be sadly missed.
